Terms of Service

Last updated October 21, 2026

These terms are the agreement between [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("Loopback", "we", "us") and the business that signs up for Loopback ("you"). By creating an account or using Loopback, you agree to them on behalf of your business. Make sure you're allowed to do that before you do.

What Loopback does

Loopback answers phone calls forwarded to it from your business number. It talks with callers, sorts emergencies from routine jobs, books appointments, contacts your on-call staff, and sends you summaries and transcripts. It's an automated system. It follows the settings you give it, and like any person or system answering phones, it will sometimes get things wrong.

Your account

  • Give us accurate information about your business and keep it up to date.
  • You're responsible for who you add to your team and what they do in your account. Remove people who shouldn't have access anymore.
  • Tell us right away at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think someone has gotten into your account.

Plans and payment

The free plan includes 5 answered calls per month and doesn't need a card. Paid plans are billed monthly, in advance, in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes. There's no contract and no setup fee. You can cancel any time and your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund partial months.

If we change our prices, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you. If you don't want to pay it, cancel before then.

Your settings and your callers

You decide how Loopback represents your business, so you're responsible for:

  • The accuracy of what you tell it: your service area, hours, prices, and the safety steps it may give callers. Loopback repeats what you approve. Check it.
  • Following the laws that apply to your calls, including telling callers where required that the call is answered by an automated system and transcribed.
  • Setting up and maintaining call forwarding with your phone carrier.
  • Following up on the calls, messages and bookings Loopback passes to you.

Emergencies

Loopback is not an emergency service. It can recognize urgent plumbing problems and try to reach your on-call staff, but it can't guarantee that anyone will answer, or that it will judge every situation correctly. Anyone facing a fire, a gas leak, or a risk to life should call 911 or their local emergency number. Don't present Loopback to callers as a way to get emergency help.

Acceptable use

Don't use Loopback to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else do so;
  • send spam, unsolicited marketing texts, or robocalls;
  • mislead callers about who they're dealing with or what your business offers;
  • answer calls for a business you don't own or represent;
  • interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or try to get around its limits.

We can suspend accounts that do these things.

Your data

Your business information, call transcripts, messages and bookings belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Loopback for you, support you, and improve the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, including your callers'.

Loopback itself, including its software, voice, and the way it handles calls, belongs to us. These terms don't give you any rights to it beyond using the service.

Availability

We work to keep Loopback answering around the clock, but it depends on phone carriers, cloud providers and AI providers that can fail. There may be outages, dropped calls, or delayed messages, and we'll sometimes take the service down for maintenance. We don't promise uninterrupted service. When something goes wrong, we'll fix it as quickly as we can.

We may change features over time. If we remove something important to how you use Loopback, we'll let you know in advance.

Disclaimers

Apart from what these terms say, Loopback is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no other promises about it, including that it's fit for a particular purpose or that it will never make mistakes.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost jobs, or damage caused by a call that was missed or mishandled. Our total liability for any claim connected to Loopback is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $100 CAD.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used Loopback, the settings you gave it, or your breach of these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account any time. To stop calls reaching Loopback, turn off call forwarding with your carrier. We can end or suspend your account if you seriously breach these terms or don't pay, and otherwise with 30 days' notice. Once an account is closed, we delete its data as described in our Privacy Policy. Ask us before closing if you want a copy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for changes that matter, email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Loopback after that, the new terms apply.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of [PROVINCE] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute goes to the courts of [PROVINCE]. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If either of us is slow to enforce a right, that doesn't mean giving it up. You can't transfer this agreement without our consent. We can transfer it as part of a sale or merger of our business. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about Loopback.
